Genetic Testing

If you’ve been searching for answers to restore and improve your health, testing your DNA should be the next step. Our office utilizes customized and private DNA saliva test kits called Your Genomic Resource & STRATEGENE and its results to interpret your DNA.  See below for more information on other common genetic testing options.
​How Does Genetic Testing Work?
Both the  Your Genomic Resource & STRATEGENE tests are simple to do. Once you order the test, follow the instructions included in the test kit, fill the provided tube with your saliva, mail the kit to the lab, and the lab results will be uploaded directly into your file, and then into either the Functional Genomic Analysis or STRATEGENE program. Then our office will go to work to help you understand your DNA test results and what they could mean to your health.
In a private, one-hour consultation with our office – in person or  via video conference – you’ll receive a Genetic Variant Nutritional Assessment report from the software platforms that analyzes your genetic raw data, as well as nutritional support recommendations based on your unique genetics. These recommendations will supplement your missing nutrients and antioxidants, or use nutrients to aid in the production of needed enzymes to ultimately reduce damaging oxidants and support healthy cells. We also may make other recommendations that could include dietary changes and/or suggested detoxification therapies.

We will follow up with you to monitor your progress and make changes as needed. It is often necessary to go through different phases of nutritional support until you get to a maintenance protocol. The goal is to resolve immediate health concerns and then start a prevention program that supports your nutritional health needs.

CHANGES TO 23andMe & Ancestry.com RAW DATA FILES
NOTE: At this time, we are not recommending ordering the 23andMe or Ancestry.com genetic test to use with the Functional Genomic AnalysisTM or Strategene software programs.
23andMe began to change their genotyping chip from V4 to V5 in July/August of 2017. The V5 chip eliminates 7,000 of the 9,000 SNP’s that were previously genotyped and used in our reports. They are now looking at a greater number of genes, but their information currently is not completely compatible with our software program or all third party interpretation services of which we are aware. We are now recommending the customized and private DNA Saliva Test Kit YOUR GENOMIC RESOURCETM or the STRATEGENE and no longer recommend purchasing a 23andMe or Ancestry.com test kits. The YOUR GENOMIC RESOURCETM or the STRATEGENE testing kits  will provide significantly more data than what is currently available on the 23andMe or Ancestry.com chips. If you have already purchased the 23andMe or Ancestry.com kit, we can still use the data that it provides but please understand that the information provided will be limited.  Please contact our office to order Your Genomic Resource or Strategene test kit.
